The challenge

As listing volumes grew, so did the challenges. The in-house moderation team could only review 10% of listings, focusing mainly on high-risk categories. Fraudsters quickly spotted the loopholes, posting scams in less-monitored areas like the “baby” category, which was suddenly flooded with shady loan offers.

With budgets tight and resources stretched, anibis.ch needed a smarter way to scale moderation while protecting users and maintaining trust. That’s when they turned to Besedo.

“When our workload increased it forced us to focus on high-risk categories only. Fraudsters soon found out they could bypass our security using other categories which were not or less controlled by us,” said Jelena Moncilli, Fraud Specialist at Anibis.

The solution

The partnership with Besedo began with automated filters through Implio. These were carefully customized to fit anibis.ch’s unique needs and quickly covered 80% of listings. Over the following year, this process also created a labeled dataset, which was then used to train AI models tailored for anibis.ch.

Within two months of training and just one week of integration, anibis.ch had reached 94% automation.

With filters and AI working together, anibis.ch now automatically moderates 94% of listings with an impressive 99.8% accuracy and 85% recall.
